All I Want for Christmas Is … Completed Applications

all i want for christmas is completed applications“It’s the most wonderful time of year.” Christmas carols are playing, bells are jingling and students are squealing with delight as they receive notifications of early college decisions. But, if you are one of the many students who has buried your head in the sand, hoping and praying that college application season would just go away, this may not be such a wonderful time of year after all.

Don’t panic. Don’t fret.Even if you haven’t even created a Common App™ account, there is still time. Most schools accept applications through December 31 and there are many schools that continue to accept applications into the spring and early summer. And, the best news is that, with a bit of organization and support, you can complete a successful college application by the end of the week.

The biggest obstacle in getting great applications submitted is in knowing how to approach them. I’ve written and spoken a lot about how most students approach this process backwards and end up with applications that take a lot of time to complete but don’t effectively present a clear picture of who the student is or what distinguishes him or her from every other smart, talented applicant. Instead of wasting precious time and effort, follow the step-by-step process that I outline in The Complete Candidate: A Comprehensive System for Solving the College Admissions Puzzle. This 5 part, multimedia system will tell you exactly what to do – in what order – to develop and execute a successful college admissions strategy.
