When people find out what I do for a living, it opens the flood gates for what little Jenny or Johnny can do to get into Dream U.  “What extra-curricular activities should they take?”  “What about community service?”  “Is it better to get a lower grade in an AP class or a higher grade in an on-level class?”  What if he starts a charity?”  “She’s got a 33 ACT score; should she retake it?” “Will that get him in?”   With so much attention placed on gaining admission into college, I rarely have parents put in the same effort into understanding what are the factors that will help their children be successful once they get to college.  This is why I am writing an 8 Part series on making a successful transition to college:

Part 1: The College Roller Coaster

Part 2: College Success Framework

Part 3: Selecting the Right School

Part 4: Go Beyond the Beach

Part 5: Nailing the First Semester

Part 6: The Parent’s Role

Part 7: Transferring Out

Part 8: The Legal Stuff
